The Biver “Echoes of this Moment,” designed in collaboration with Swiss artist Guillaume Ehinger, is a watch that merges craftsmanship and artistry. This unique piece features a 39mm stainless steel case, marking Biver’s first use of this material instead of its typical platinum or rose gold. The case showcases a dynamic contrast of finishes, with polished tops and sides of the lugs, while the bezel and facets are brushed, creating an interplay of textures that enhances its visual appeal. This thoughtful design not only highlights its unique aesthetics but also ensures a comfortable fit on the wrist.
Biver Echoes of this Moment
At the heart of the Biver Echoes of this Moment is a handmade enamel dial crafted from an 18k white gold plate. Inspired by Ehinger’s painting style, the dial is engraved with rippling patterns that resemble a lake’s surface at sunset. Layers of enamel in red, pink, and grey tones create a mesmerizing, ever-changing display that reflects light beautifully, allowing each glance to reveal a new visual experience. Ehinger describes this attention to detail as a rewarding exploration—revealing more as one observes closely.
The movement, Calibre JCB-003, continues the watch’s artisanal narrative. It includes Biver’s signature Clou de Paris engraving, sharply chamfered angles, and a 22k gold micro-rotor engraved with the watch’s name and Ehinger’s signature. Completing the look is a cotton and Alcantara strap with a stainless steel pin buckle, giving the watch an elegant, casual finish meant for regular wear.
Set to be auctioned at the TimeForArt event in New York City on December 7, this unique piece stands as a testament to Biver’s dedication to watchmaking as a form of art. The auction estimate ranges from CHF 60,000 to CHF 120,000.
